Torch Down

Torch down roofing requires an open-flame propane torch. In this installation method, sheets of modified bitumen are rolled out onto the roof, and our SVR roofing professional uses a hand-held propane torch to heat the material and adhere it to the surface. Once the layers reach the right temperature, seams are melted together to create a waterproof seal. This type of roofing applies to flat roofs.

Underlayment

Roofing underlayment is a water-resistant or waterproof barrier material that is installed directly onto your roof deck. It is applied under all other roofing materials as an added layer of protection from severe weather. No matter what type of roof you decide to go with for your home/project, an underlayment material will be laid out for full waterproof protection. ( Different underlayment materials vary depending on type of roof )

Commercial Coating

Silicone Coating is another option to waterproofing your unit instead of the graduated torch down material. One of the benefits to coating is you won't need to tear off the existing roof ( Upon inspection by one of our service managers ) but rather go over the old roof with the silicone fluid. Application can be completed by spray or rolling the fluid out after pressure washing all dirt and debris to make sure coating can seal properly,  but at SVR we recommended rolling as you are getting a thicker coat into the cracks and seals and more cleaner look as spraying sometimes isn't as effective depending on weather at time of installation and overspray near HVACS & skylights.
